BUSY SUNDAY for this girl! Went to early morning church, did a little photo shoot at @poppyavenueboutique and then worked a few hours in learning all the things at @poppyavenuecleanbeautybar!! By that time Western was closed so I improvised with the little park down the street from my apartment! .

Format was super simple: 
1 mile run/jog
1 Tabata each (8 rounds 20 sec of work 10 sec recovery) of the following exercises:

Triceps dips 
Incline pushups
Rollouts 
Inverted rows

Ended with a nice cool down walk back home. .

All of this took me about 45 min, so if you don’t have access to a gym, or have a limited gym, there’s always fun ways to sneak a quick workout in!!

Great pointers from @weightliftingdoc with the P-Fit ❇️ Incline Pushups Benefits & Technique With Proper Biomechanics!

✅ This primarily hits the pectoralis major, anterior deltoid, triceps, and core. With the feet elevated it places more emphasis on the upper portion of the pectoralis major!
#
✅ Make sure as with any pushup to never make a “T” with the arms (upper arm 90 degrees to the body). The “T” position will almost definitely result in A-C joint impingement at some point. To avoid this shoot for somewhere around 45 degrees between the upper arm and the body. You can see this from the video.
#
✅ Make sure the feet are elevated higher than the body. Different heights can be utilized for variety.
#
✅ Make sure to lock the elbows fully at extension. Half reps or half range of motion is not a complete pushup and will result in strength deficits in end ranges of motion. 
#
✅ The complete lockout will also help with other movements that require full extension of the elbow.
#
✅ Keep the core tight the entire time. No sagging stomachs! 
#
✅ DO NOT look forward with the head extended. Eyes straight ahead towards the floor with a neutral spine. Lifting the head to look forward is hyperextension of the cervical spine and has no benefit rather incurs risk of cervical strain. Anyone who says you have to lift your head for real pushups is flat WRONG! As a chiropractor this one pisses me off lol! Stay strong!

Workout done ✅ now for the walk home I did feel it had eased as my muscles warmed but oh my god my glutes are burning 😂no pain no gain 😂😂as a plus it’s an even on both sides pain 😂💪🏽so I am doing well to keep my posture correct and my squats down low lol 😆 is it wrong that I love using trx to do incline and suspended rows 💛😂💪🏽right now though I feel I’m giving Kim k a run for her money my ass feels huge 🙈😆but like i said no pain no gain. Tried out lying triceps extensions a.k.a “skull crushers” today. The motion felt weird to me and I had to lower my weights to concentrate on form. I’ll keep working at it though! .

When you go lower on the incline push-ups, lower than your limit, to where your chest touches the floor the difference, yes, can be outstanding.
Even though my chest didn’t touch the floor, my head getting in the way, I’m determined to get to that level.
Putting plates on the floor next time to get the clearance 😂

Push-ups are one of the best workouts, challenging your chest, arms, shoulders, and core all at once. There are end number of variations, here I am sharing my favorite 10 with correct form and how they help you.

5X10 = 50 Pushups in a go 😉

1. Traditional pushup

The most fundamental bodyweight exercises on earth. It strengthens the chest, shoulders, and triceps as well as the core and back muscles.

2. Wide-grip pushup

Engages the shoulders more.

3. Close-grip pushup

Engages the triceps more.

4. Staggered Hands Push-Up

Trains the push-up muscles asymmetrically across the body and requires more core activation for stability.

5. One-leg pushup

It works your lower-abdominal muscles and places more demand on your chest and serratus anterior (posture muscle that runs from your chest and along your rib cage to your shoulder blade)

6. Dead-stop pushup

Also known as a “hand-release pushup,” this can help ease tension on the joints, really helpful for the beginners.

7. Eccentric pushup

Emphasizes the muscle-lengthening phase of the pushup as the resistance becomes greater than the force.

8. Spider-Man pushup

Mainly works your pectoral muscles, your deltoids, and your triceps. It also can engage your core muscles and helps to strengthen them and improves hip mobility.

9. Incline pushup

Forces the chest to work in an unbalanced state and works more of the lower chest and triceps.

10. Decline pushup

It works more of the upper chest and shoulders.

I used the fun dips and inclines of a BMX track for a post-classes workout recently; warmed up with a wavy run and then hit 2 sets of 10 push-ups (one leg in the air like I just don’t care), using the track’s incline for added intensity. 🏃🏾‍♀️

I just sat down and took in the peace and quiet for ages afterwards, before cycling home. Just listening to the breeze in this video makes me feel so peaceful. The odd siren isn’t so bad when you’re away from the main roads and able to breathe. Look at that beautiful sky! 😌
